After members of Flashback.org had discovered and revealed manipulated photos in at least 23 images by Terje Hellesø (and as more revelations were in the pipeline) Hellesøe told Swedish Radio on 14th of September that he had removed images of 93 lynx , two badgers and a raccoon dog from his blog.

The excavation team at Flashback has found strong evidence for further photo maninipulation.

Terje’s forgeries were conducted by cutting and pasting animals from other photographers’ images and then assembling them into his own photos. He also manipulated his wife’s, Malin Hellesøe, images.

 

PHOTOGRAPHERS
Who are the original photographers that were hit by Terje’s daring prank? Swedish media report a lot about Terje Hellesøe. However, the media mentions little about those who actually photographed the lynx, badgers and the raccoon dog. Nor is anything written much about the implications for other affected parties such as PhotoNatura and the thirty photographers (among them Brutus Ostling), whose photographs will be shelved when PhotoNatura on September 23 has been forced to cancel the publishing of an entire book. The photographer/ project manager Mats Andersson is another who has had to stop a book project – ”John Bauer’s forests”.
